at the Farmers' Market gets you an awful lot of apples. Fifty-two to be exact:

Which is excellent because we're in charge of the applesauce at Thanksgiving and need to make sure there's enough for our sauce-loving family.

We had enough apples to make a few batches of cinnamon applesauce...

and still had plenty left for gnawing...

and conquering.

What dish are you in charge of this Thanksgiving?

Aren't Farmers' Markets wonderful? Sounds like you hit the jackpot there! That cranberry applesauce looks particularly yummy. Thanks for the wonderful photo inspiration, as usual.

We sure did...the bushel we got was marked down too! The cranberry applesauce is a great alternative to regular cranberry sauce. It's still tart enough and a bit thicker than applesauce. You can definitely have both out on the table. We've been making those two recipes for the past 6 years and it's something that everyone looks forward to.

Is there anything more fun to photograph than good food and your family? :)

We love to make homemade applesauce! Do you press it through a sieve or leave it chunky? We use my the food puree attachment on my kitchenaid mixer and it's easy peasy! Let's see ...what am I in charge of? Um, the entire meal. :-)

I'm in charge of all the dishes at Thanksgiving. Wish me luck!
