veterans day

November 11, 2008

As our family gets ready to see my brother off on his first (and hopefully last) deployment to Iraq, Veterans Day has begun to take on a completely new meaning for me. Whatever your opinions are on this war and those of the past, please keep our soldiers and their families in your thoughts today and throughout the year.

Just happened upon your site. Your work is lovely and I will add you to my blog roll! But MOSTLY I will keep you and your brother in my heart - may his journey be short and safe.

Will do. Looking forward to a post on his safe return at some point. Sending prayers your way...

Will definitely say a little prayer for your brother. Our nephew just finished his basic training with the marines this year and is now stationed in CA. We pray that he gets to stay stateside.

Thank you for all of your kind words. It's his wife and baby that my heart really goes out for.

Sooz, isn't it just beautiful there? So tranquil and humbling. Your proposal must have been beautiful.

Hi Vicki
I am sorry to hear that. I just got the news that my brother will be going back again in 2009 for the *third* time. He was out of the army, but, is going back due to stop loss. It SUCKS. :(
