Samson and his friends met up at the Baltimore Peace Path. It's sort of a reverse parade where passing drivers honked and waved to us while we stood alongside the road with our signs, flags, and ziploc bags of salty snacks.
Although I tried to prep Samson ahead of time (no buddy, we're the parade), he really just wanted to know when the fire trucks were coming. The boys lasted about 10 minutes before they found some large branches from the nearest lawn and started shooting each other. I think this made the other peace-y people uncomfortable and we left to get some pizza.
On our way home I asked Samson what he thought about the parade and all the people honking at us. I asked him if it felt good to know that so many other people want this world to be a happy, peaceful place.
His answer?
"I just love you Mommy."
That kid always knows the right thing to say.
